The Futures – Restart program offers a holistic approach to supporting jobseekers that have been involved in the criminal justice system. We aim to assist in developing knowledge, skills and confidence to overcome the challenges and manage expectations of returning to the workplace


Overview

The purpose of the program is to help participants to “restart” their career, develop an understanding of the local labour market opportunities, expectations and to provide an opportunity to engage with industry, as a pathway to employment. The program is designed to maximise engagement through locally delivered interactive workshops.


How the program works

Qualify’s team of experienced Employment Mentors provide expert training and practical support in a combination of group-based workshops and individual support to assist participants in understanding and navigating through the local employment landscape.

  • Setting goals, future planning and transferable skills
  • Managing expectations of employers and those returning to work following involvement in the justice system
  • Job application process
  • Co-operate with others and develop personal strategies for handling conflict and stress
  • Managing corrections and appointment requirements including ensuring orders are understood
  • A First Aid certificate
