The Qualify CPP30316 Certificate III in Cleaning Operations is designed to equip you with the practical skills and knowledge needed to succeed in commercial and residential cleaning services. Whether you work in the industry, want to run your own cleaning business or want to pursue employment, you will get all the training you need to ensure you are fully compliant and skilled to meet the requirements of the thriving cleaning and asset maintenance industry.
Our nationally recognised, practical training maximises student engagement opportunities through our dynamic blended delivery learning modes. You will be given the opportunity to develop practical skills and knowledge in the appropriate use of chemicals, cleaning methods and techniques, infection control and how to monitor and maintain equipment supplies.
Designed for people who have an interest in working in professional cleaning services, or people who currently working in the industry wanting to grow skills and obtain a formal qualification.

This introductory course equips you with the fundamentals of using cleaning chemicals, methods and techniques

There are no prerequisites to gain entry into CPP30316 Certificate III in Cleaning Operations. However, before you start, we conduct a pre-enrolment review and language, literacy & numeracy assessment to assist you with appropriate course selection and to identify your strengths, weaknesses and support requirements.
Students will need to;
- Have regular access to a computer and to a reliable internet connection
- Basic to intermediate computer, or digital device, navigation skills
- Meet the basic language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) requirements for the course, including communicating effectively with your trainer and industry in English
- be physically able to undertake practical activities and work placement
- The ability and willingness to study lesson material and complete assessment activities
- PDF reader software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat) installed on your computer or the digital device

To achieve this qualification, you need to successfully complete 14 units of study with a minimum of 389 nominal hours. This consists of 5 core units plus 9 elective units. Units have been clustered into topic groups to assist with learning concepts and to avoid duplication.

*Unit has work placement or practical activity participation component
Participants are assessed via completion of required tasks and a demonstration of skills. This includes completing projects, written questions or tests and practical work. This course can also be completed as a traineeship.
Pathways and outcomes
The course provides a general vocational outcome in cleaning and asset maintenance and pathway into employment or further training such as the CPP40416 Certificate IV in Cleaning Management. Job roles may include:
- Professional Cleaner
- Hospital / Aged Care Facility Cleaning Assistant.
Upon successful completion of all units of competency, you will be issued with the CPP30316 Certificate III in Cleaning Operations qualiﬁcation. In the case that you successfully complete one, or some, but not all of the units of competency within the course, you will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the unit/s that you have completed.
