The Qualify BSB30115 Certificate III in Business is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in the business world. The course maximises student engagement opportunities through our dynamic blended delivery learning platforms.

Our nationally recognised, practical training, provides students with the opportunity to develop all the essential skills and knowledge required to succeed in the business world. You will develop key skills in customer service, purchasing, presentations, text documents and spreadsheets. Participants undertaking the Certificate III in Business will develop skills and knowledge to perform a range of responsibilities, working under minimal supervision in any business environment.

Overview

This course provides a dynamic and engaging learning experience designed to provide students with the essential skills to work in a business environment. This introductory course equips you with fundamental business administration knowledge and skills and includes a range of electives including creating documents, spreadsheets and presentations

Entry requirements

There are no prerequisites to gain entry into BSB30115 Certificate III in Business. Students will need to;


  • Have regular access to a computer and to a reliable internet connection
  • Basic to intermediate computer, or digital device, navigation skills
  • Meet the basic language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) requirements for the course, including communicating effectively with your trainer and industry in English
  • The ability and willingness to study lesson material and complete assessment activities
  • PDF reader software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat) installed on your computer or the digital device


Course Structure

To achieve this qualification, you need to successfully complete 12 units of study with a minimum of 523 nominal hours. This consists of 1 core unit plus 11 elective units. Units have been clustered into topic groups to assist with learning concepts and to avoid duplication.

1. Business Documents


BSBITU306 - Design and produce business documents (Elective)


BSBITU313 - Design and produce digital text documents using Office 2016 (Elective)


2. Get Creative - Desktop Publishing


BSBITU309 - Produce desktop published documents (Elective)


3. Excel with Spreadsheets


BSBITU314 - Produce spreadsheets (Elective)


4. Business Resources and Improvement


BSBFLM309 - Support continuous improvement systems and processes (Elective)


BSBADM311 - Maintain business resources (Elective)


Assessment

Participants are assessed via completion of required tasks and a demonstration of skills. This includes completing projects, written questions or tests and practical work. This course can also be completed as a traineeship.


Pathways and outcomes

The course provides a general vocational outcome in business and pathway into employment or further training such as the Certificate IV in Business. Job roles may include:


  • Administrator
  • Customer Service
  • Data entry clerk
  • Word process operator


Upon successful completion of all units of competency, you will be issued with the BSB30115 Certificate III in Business qualification. In the case that you successfully complete one, or some, but not all of the units of competency within the course, you will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the unit/s that you have completed.
